Disciple Bible Study

Once every fall you have the opportunity to sign up for one of our long-term studies. The Disciple classes are 32-34 week classes with daily reading assignments and a weekly 2 1/2 hour group meeting. The textbook for all classes is the Bible, with a workbook that offers helpful study notes and questions. It is a wonderful way to learn more about the Bible and get to know a great group of people. We usually offer one or two Disciple classes in the series depending on student interest and availability of leaders. The studies start up in September with a registration period in August. Below are brief descriptions of each class in the series. Information is taken from the appropriate handbooks.

Disciple 1: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study is a foundational study designed to give an overview of the entire Bible. It is recommended, but not required as a prerequisite for all other Disciple classes, which may then be taken in any order.

Disciple 2: Into the Word Into the World covers Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts in depth. Each week's assignments will also include appropriate passages from other parts of the Bible.

Disciple 3: Remember Who You Are covers the Old Testament Prophets and the letters of Paul. "The Prophets and Paul are continually calling their hearers back to their God and to a sense of who they are as a 'set apart' people."

Disciple 4: Under the Tree of Life
covers the Old Testament Writings, (books not in Torah or the Prophets), the Gospel of John; 1, 2, 3 John; James; Jude; and Revelation.

Jesus in the Gospels This is the first class from Disciple Second Generation Studies. As its title suggests, it is an indepth study of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
