Open Staff Positions

Applicant Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age and willing to commit for at least one year.
• Willingness to submit to a background check and completion of all required forms.
• Must take our Child Protection training class.

YOUTH MINISTRIES COORDINATOR

 This position would focus on ministry with youth grades 6-12.  The responsibilities would include:

·         Incorporating youth into the life of the church at all levels (service in the community; leadership; worship leadership) including assistance with the planning of youth mission experiences

·         Recruiting, training and supporting  youth leaders from the membership of the congregation

·         Outreach to new youth and their families; outreach into the community to invite youth  to become a part of our youth ministries program

·         Involving youth in interfaith activities

·         Providing Safe Sanctuary training for those who are involved in youth ministry

HOURS:  To start this will be a 12 hour per week position with the expectation that the actual hours will vary from week to week depending on the particular needs of the program at any give time.  It is our hope that the person who is hired for this position would be present for Sunday morning worship at least two Sundays per month.

SALARY:  To be determined by the Staff Parish Relations Committee

REPORTING:  The person who is hired for this position will report to the pastor and the Christian Education Committee through the chairperson.  A written annual report will be expected to be included in our Charge Conference Report booklet.


INTER-GENERATIONAL MINISTRIES COORDINATOR

·         Programming inter-generational activities especially during the seasons of Advent and Lent as well as during the Holiday Stroll and Holiday Fair.  Other times such as during school vacation weeks are also prime opportunities of inter-generational ministries.

·         Coordinating with the Worship Committee to involve children and youth in worship on a regular basis as liturgists, musicians, Children’s Time leaders, and any other opportunities that may present themselves.

·         Publicizing educational and intergenerational activities using a variety of media (print and on-line)

·         Outreach to new families and children as well as to the community

·         Coordinating with the Membership and Evangelism Committee;  Missions Committee; and the Communications and IT Committee

·         Providing Safe Sanctuary training for Sunday School and VBS leaders and teachers as well as nursery care workers

·         Pursuing grants to fund activities that are “outside the box”
