Main Street United Methodist Church Music Program
Music & Choirs
Main Street UMC offers a variety of musical groups to be a part of. Whether you are an accomplished musician or a beginner there is a place for you!
The Chancel Choir welcomes anyone who enjoys singing in a group from 9th grade through adult.
The Chancel Choir meets from early September until June, Practices are Thursday nights from 7:30 to 8:30 in the church vestry and sing every Sunday at the 10:30 worship service.
Christmas and Easter Cantata
During the Christmas and Easter season there are two Cantatas performed. If you cannot sing for the entire year but would like to sing for the cantata you are more than welcome to join us from mid-November through Christmas for the Christmas Cantata. Come join us in March and April for the Easter Cantata. Rehearsals are on Thursday nights from 7:30 - 9:00 with an additional rehearsal the Saturday before the Cantata.
The Hand Bell Choir is looking to expand. For the last couple of years, we’ve had some bells just waiting to be heard but we just haven’t had enough hands to play them all!! Perhaps now is an excellent time for you to learn how to make a different type of joyful noise! No experience required. Ability to read music is a plus.
The group performs during the worship service approximately once a month. We rehearse Thursdays, 6:30-7:30 pm, in the sanctuary.
